Every time it snows in Charlotte, I’m reminded of our great winters growing up in Michigan, a true winter wonderland, where we reveled in the snow - the more the better! I count myself lucky to have grown up skiing, skating, sledding, having neighborhood snowball fights - laying our mittens, hats and boots on the radiator only after the sun went down. This is one of my favorite pictures of Sophie skiing in Michigan in a coat and hat I loved (she did not). She learned to ski soon after walking, just like a good Michigander.
